About
Our History
Founded in 1941
Nhowe Mission High School was established between 1939 and 1941 by W.L. Brown of the American Churches of Christ, with a vision to bring quality Christian education to rural Zimbabwe.
Growing Through the Decades
Through the 1960s and 70s, the school grew rapidly. In the early 1970s, Jerry Masaraure became the first African Headmaster, marking a turning point toward local leadership and ownership.
Nhowe Today
Today, Nhowe Mission High School serves over 1,500 students from Form 1 to Form 6, continuing its founding mission of academic excellence rooted in Christian faith and values.
Our Aims & Mission
At Nhowe Mission High School, everything we do is guided by a clear mission: to provide quality, Christ-centred education that develops the whole person academically, spiritually, morally, and socially. Our aims shape every decision we make, from the classroom to the dormitory.
We aim to provide a rigorous and relevant curriculum that prepares every student for O and A Level examinations and beyond. We believe every child is capable of achieving outstanding results with the right support and environment.
As a Christian institution, we are committed to nurturing students in faith, character, and integrity. Daily devotions, chapel services, and Christian-led counselling are core to school life at Nhowe.
We aim to develop well-rounded individuals through participation in sports, arts, music, community service, and leadership programs because education is more than academic results.
